The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to have genuine influence and is perfect for an ambitious and commercially minded Finance Manager.

Sitting at the centre of the firm’s day-to-day operations, this hands-on role see you provide back-office services to support all other departments and enterprises. Its aim is to ensure regulatory and financial compliance as well as providing a ‘one system’ approach to how things are done at Joii to ensure an efficient use of all Joii’s resources.

This position manages the following sub teams / business functions:

Finance team & financial reporting (including to the Board)

Be a true strategic partner to the CEO

Operational support (loading jobs with templates, controlling all payroll activities and processing timesheets, assisting all divisional managers)

Reception and General Office Admin (stationary, manning phones, etc

The Key Selection Criteria

In depth knowledge of accounting standards, fringe benefits legislation, governance and risk management practices;

Robust financial and accounting background, including an understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management and general finance and budgeting;

Ability to operate equally well at both a strategic and hands‑on operational level;

Executive experience of leading a multidisciplinary team; empowering them to deliver exceptional results.

Business acumen gained from creating a commercial environment, managing costs, delivery and priority outcomes.

Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting or a related field.



Post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded.

Highly developed written and oral communication skills.

Experience with Financial and Job Costing Software (MYOB, Employment Hero).

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following key attributes:

Experience in the not‑for‑profit sector will be highly regarded

Relevant experience 5+ years

Tertiary Qualifications in Business or a related field. Post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded.

CPA (Certified Practising Accountants) or CA (Chartered Accountants);

MYOB experience

Current Drivers Licence

Position Objectives

Drive a positive, productive culture within the team based on Joii’s vision, mission, culture and values.

Ensure clear goals are articulated and monitored for each staff member (including offshore staff members).

Staff basics are managed, timesheets, periodical reviews, training, etc

Procedures are documented and processes are transparent.

Development of Joii Corporate Services as a whole of business enabler.

Ensure relevant support is provided to staff and regular opportunities for feedback are provided.

Provision of accurate and timely group financial and management information;

Provision of easily understandable (from the users perspective) of daily, weekly monthly and YTD reporting, to assist with the management of the Social Enterprises.





Supporting Social Enterprise Managers and Divisional Managers in their implementation of the business plan & operating within their budgets.

Development of appropriate reporting frameworks to ensure compliance;

Working with the CEO to ensure a core focus on debt collection, cost control, revenue enhancement and other duties as required.

Developing (for Board consideration) strategic options for future budgets, capital & cashflow management.

Developing (with appropriate stakeholders) the financial plan incorporating budgeting, statistical analysis and action plans;

Directing and managing the day-to-day cash management, internal auditing & reporting;

Other duties

Active member of the Management Team including attendance at all meetings as required;

Develop and maintain relevant financial policies and procedures as required.

Produce monthly reports (Board & Management) against various metrics as required and relevant.

Provide CEO and Board with advice on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks;

Monitor cash flow and debt collection and ensure it is appropriate for the organisation’s operations;

Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and guidelines;

Manage, prioritise and guide the work plans of any staff, contractors and consultants to deliver effectively.

Implement and maintain Continuous Improvement system standards and procedures.

Implement and maintain health and safety standards and procedures according to legislation and consistent with Joii Ltd Policies.

Undertake all duties with an awareness of and sensitivity to diversity and equity in accordance with Joii Ltd policy.
