- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and production work orders.
- Determine machining requirements and select appropriate tooling, materials, and manufacturing methods.
- Set up, calibrate, and operate CNC plasma cutting machinery and workshop equipment.
- Program and adjust CNC machines to achieve required dimensions, tolerances, and finishes.
- Monitor production processes and make machine adjustments to optimise quality and efficiency.
- Perform quality inspections and measurements throughout the manufacturing process.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions as required.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and equipment inspections.
- Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and production staff to meet project deadlines.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Maintain a clean, organised,
and safe work workplace.
- Adhere to all workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a CNC Plasma Operator, Machinist, CNC Programmer, or similar manufacturing position.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Experience operating CNC machinery and metalworking equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
