Building Industry Training Pty Ltd (BIT) is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Officer to help lead regulatory compliance, quality assurance and continuous improvement across our nationally recognised training operations.
Work with other experienced compliance officers and assist the CEO in leading compliance, quality assurance and regulatory governance activities across Bit’s operations, ensuring alignment with RTO standards, ASQA regulatory requirements and partner funding contracts.
What you will do:
- Combine comprehensive knowledge and experience in delivering compliance frameworks with the ability to drive change and business improvements.;
- Deliver the BIT compliance framework with other compliance team members;
- Deliver the regulatory reporting program with other compliance team members;
- Design and conduct internal audits to identify weaknesses and recommend rectification solutions;
- Monitor and ensure training products are compliant with RTO standards;
- Develop, document and implement policies and management systems;
- Deliver risk management and continuous improvement outcomes for the business under BIT’s business risk management framework;
- Provide considered, practical and effective compliance advice to management and staff.
- Train staff in risk management/compliance systems and processes; and
- Maintain currency of compliance manuals, procedures and processes including training material.
Key Selection Criteria
- Is self-motivated and flexible in delivering effective solutions to manage business risk and compliance issues including planning and implementing business improvement opportunities.
- Works effectively in a team environment and can willingly assist team members to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Has a solid work ethic and professional approach to working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Has good communication skills and a high attention to detail.
- Has previous compliance and risk management experience.
- Excellent reporting skills.
- Sound knowledge of RTO and ASQA standards or similar is highly valued.
- Has demonstrated experience in a similar or relevant role.
Additional Requirements
- Have a Blue Card or have the ability to obtain one.
- Have a current driver’s license.
- Successfully complete a National Police Check.

Location
Position is primarily Brisbane based but will require regular travel to other offices and localities including the Gold Coast and Rockhampton.
