About the Role

Banjo's Bakery Cafe Latrobe is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Sales Assistant to join our team in Latrobe, TAS. This is a part-time position that offers the perfect opportunity to be part of a vibrant, community-focused bakery cafe.
As a Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service whilst supporting the smooth operation of our retail environment. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced setting and take pride in creating positive customer experiences.

What you’ll be doing

- Serving customers at the counter with warmth and professionalism, taking orders and processing payments
- Preparing and packaging bakery items, confectionery and beverages to customer specifications
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic and well-organised sales area in compliance with health and safety standards
- Assisting with stock rotation, inventory management and restocking display shelves
- Operating the point-of-sale system efficiently and handling cash and card transactions
- Answering customer enquiries and providing product recommendations with enthusiasm
- Supporting promotional activities and special events when required
- Communicating effectively with team members to ensure seamless service delivery

What we’re looking for

- Previous experience/extensive understanding of making hot beverages
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for helping customers




- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Reliability and punctuality with flexibility to work varied part-time hours, including weekends
- Numeracy skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
- Basic food hygiene knowledge or willingness to obtain relevant certifications
- A positive, respectful attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle light lifting
