The best ERP Functional Consultants don't start by talking about systems.
They start with curiosity.
They want to understand how the business works, where processes break down and what people actually need before recommending a solution.
That is where the real value is created.
If you're naturally curious and enjoy helping people work better, this opportunity is likely to really appeal.
Our client is rebuilding its core technology platform as part of a broader enterprise transformation.
Dynamics 365 is an key part of that journey, but it is not the whole story.
The bigger opportunity is helping redesign the processes, workflows and operating model that will support the organisation long after implementation is complete.
Why this role matters
Technology projects only succeed when people genuinely adopt the solution.
This role exists to make sure the solution reflects how the organisation needs to operate, not just what the system can technically do.
You'll work with stakeholders to understand current processes, challenge assumptions, clarify requirements and shape practical ERP outcomes.
You'll also work closely with Developers, Solution Architects and technical specialists to ensure those outcomes are scalable, supportable and aligned with the broader technology roadmap.
The role
This is a highly collaborative consulting role across the full ERP delivery lifecycle.
You'll contribute to discovery, functional design, configuration, testing, user acceptance and production cutover, while helping ensure the organisation avoids simply digitising inefficient processes.
Success won't be measured by the number of configuration changes delivered.
It will be measured by your ability to improve operational outcomes through practical thinking, strong stakeholder engagement and well-designed ERP solutions.
The organisation
Our client is a long-established Australian manufacturing and distribution organisation with operations across Australia and almost 900 employees.
Significant investment is being made across Dynamics 365, Azure, automation, AI and modern cloud technologies to create a more connected and scalable operating model.
You'll join at the beginning of that journey, working with senior technology leaders who have genuine executive support for the transformation.
About you
You may currently be a Functional Consultant, ERP Consultant, Senior Business Analyst with ERP implementation experience or another technology professional who enjoys working where business and technology intersect.
You'll bring ERP implementation experience, strong consulting capability and the ability to translate business requirements into practical technology solutions.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in ERP Functional Consultants from other enterprise platforms who are looking to develop their Dynamics capability.
What matters most is your consulting mindset.
You're curious, well prepared and comfortable asking thoughtful questions. You build credibility through the quality of your work, communicate well with both operational and technical stakeholders, and have the confidence to challenge existing ways of working when a better solution exists.
You also continue investing in your own professional development because you know great consultants never stop learning.
Working arrangements
This role is primarily office-based in Western Sydney.
Flexibility is available when required, however this opportunity will suit someone who enjoys working closely with stakeholders and project teams throughout a major business transformation.
