About our role:

Carinity Education – Gladstone is seeking a passionate anddedicated Youth Worker – VET to support students engaged inVocational Education and Training (VET) programs.

This rewarding role provides an opportunity to work alongsideyoung people as they develop confidence, practical skills, positivework habits, and pathways into further training and employment.Working closely with the VET Coordinator, trainers, and the werschool team, you will play an important role in encouraging studentparticipation, fostering wellbeing, and helping young peopleovercome barriers to learning.

As a trusted mentor and positive role model, you will contributeto creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environmentwhere every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Your day-to-day will involve:

- Support students participating in VET and practicallearning programs, encouraging engagement, attendance, andachievement
- Build positive and meaningful relationships throughmentoring, guidance, and behavioural support
- Help students develop confidence, resilience, workplacereadiness, and practical life skills
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of projects,learning activities, and school-based programs
- Supervise practical work areas, promoting safe workpractices and maintaining equipment and workspaces
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff,families, and external agencies to support positive studentoutcomes
- Foster an inclusive and respectful environment where youngpeople feel supported, valued, and empowered
- Assist with administrative tasks, case notes, and reportingrequirements
- Drive the school bus (LR licence required or willingness toobtain)

About you:





You are a compassionate, resilient, and positive individual whois passionate about helping young people reach their fullpotential. You build rapport easily, remain calm under pressure,and enjoy supporting students to achieve personal, educational, andvocational success.

In addition,

- Experience working within practical or vocational learningenvironments
- Background in youth work, education, training, communityservices or a related field
- A current Blue Card / Working with Children Check
- Previous experience supporting young people, particularlythose at risk or from disadvantaged backgrounds
- Effective behaviour support and conflict resolutionabilities
- Strong communication, mentoring andrelationship-building
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinaryteam and maintain accurate records
