About the role

Cardinal Care Support Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team across Brisbane, with service coverage extending from Morayfield through Windsor, Logan, and down to the Gold Coast. This is a casual position offering flexibility while making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. You will provide person‑centred support to service users, assisting with daily living activities, community participation, and achieving personal goals. Experience in mental health support is highly beneficial for this role.

What you’ll be doing

- Daily living support – assisting with personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks

- Community participation – supporting service users to engage in social and recreational activities

- Emotional support – providing companionship, especially for individuals with mental health needs

- Goal development – helping service users build independence and achieve personal goals

- Record keeping – maintaining accurate notes on support provided and progress

- Communication – collaborating with service users, families, and the wider support team

- Following support plans – adapting approaches to meet diverse and individualised needs

- Promoting dignity – ensuring respectful, person‑centred interactions





- Responding to concerns – identifying changes in wellbeing and escalating appropriately

- Creating safe environments – contributing to an inclusive and supportive setting

What we’re looking for

- Certificate III in Disability Support or equivalent, or willingness to train

- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities

- Mental health support experience (highly desirable)

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Empathy, patience, and commitment to person‑centred care

- Ability to work independently and within a team

- Reliability and flexibility

- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

- First Aid certification (preferred)

- Respect for diversity and individual differences
