We're looking for a Peer Group and Events Supporter to join CDAH!

We are a disabled people's organisation (DPO) based in the heart of Newcastle. As a DPO, we are run by and for people with disability. We are a purpose-driven organisation, guided by the vision of an inclusive and just society where people with disability have genuine voice, choice, and control. Our work is rooted in peer support, fostering empowerment and advocating for the rights of people with disability.

The Role

We are seeking a Peer Group and Events Supporterfor our Powerful Peers grant until June 2027. Working 3 days per week, and reporting to the Centre Manager, the Peer Group and Events Supporter is responsible for:

- Plan, coordinate and deliver a diverse calendar of community events
- Support peer groups by working alongside Peer Group Leaders to create inclusive and engaging groups
- Work collaboratively with the Communications Lead to promote events, peer groups and community initiatives through social media, newsletters and other communications.
- Build strong relationships with community members, volunteers, local businesses, sponsors and partner organisations to increase community participation.
- Coordinate event logistics including venues, bookings, catering, equipment, registrations and on-the-day operations.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and evaluate events through attendance data and participant feedback to support continuous improvement.




- Represent the organisation professionally within the community while ensuring all activities are delivered safely, within budget and in line with organisational policies.

About You

You are organised, reliable, and keen to support projects that aim to make a real difference. With experience in event management, you can deliver outcomes on time and work well as part of a team. As an active CDAH member, you bring a commitment to our values, and vision.

You're eager to learn and improve processes, value the unique skills and perspectives of others, and are guided by social justice and the rights of people with disability. You work inclusively and respectfully, embrace diversity, and contribute to strengthening the lived experience workforce. You hold a current Working with Children Check.
