About the role
We are seeking an experiencedSolicitorto join our growing litigation and dispute resolution team on afull-time basisat our office inNorth Sydney, NSW 2060. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your litigation practice in a supportive environment where your contributions will directly impact client outcomes and firm growth. You will work alongside experienced legal professionals, gaining exposure to a diverse range of disputes whilst building your expertise in litigation practice.
The practice is primarily defendant insurance work with an accent on workers compensation, property damage, public liability and dust diseases litigation. Exposure to maritime and reinsurance matters is also part of the practice.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and drafting legal documents including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- Conducting legal research and providing written and oral advice to clients on dispute resolution matters
- Managing case files and maintaining organised legal documentation
- Attending to client liaison and providing regular case updates
- Preparing matters for mediation, arbitration and court proceedings
- Assisting with evidence gathering and witness preparation
- Supporting senior practitioners in court appearances and tribunal representation
- Contributing to the development of case strategy and dispute resolution approaches
- Maintaining compliance with professional conduct rules and practice management procedures
- Mentoring junior staff to develop their professional skills
What we're looking for
- Current admission as a Solicitor with the NSW Supreme Court
- Minimum 2-5 years' experience in litigation and dispute resolution practice
- Strong legal research and writing skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and oral
- Proficiency in legal practice management software and Microsoft Office applications
- Sound time management and case management capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team-oriented team
- Professional conduct and commitment to ethical practice standards
- Preferred experience in commercial disputes, civil litigation, or related dispute resolution matters
- A proactive approach to client service and problem-solving
