Full Job Description Location: Sydney CBD, NSW 2000 Salary: $79,425 plus 12% superannuation per annum Hours: Full-time, 38 hours per week Tiny's Sandwich Bar is looking for an experienced Cook to join our team. This is a full-time, ongoing position, working 38 hours per week, based in Sydney CBD, NSW. The Cook will be responsible for the following duties: Prepare, season and cook a variety of food items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
Assist with food preparation for daily service, ensuring ingredients are prepared efficiently and safely. Portion, plate and present meals consistently to meet the venue's quality and presentation standards. Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner during busy service periods.
Monitor food quality throughout preparation and cooking to maintain consistency and customer satisfaction. Store food appropriately and rotate stock in accordance with food safety requirements. Assist with receiving, checking and storing deliveries of food supplies.
Maintain a clean and organised workstation and assist in keeping kitchen equipment and utensils clean and in positive working order. Follow all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times. Assist with stock control by reporting low stock levels and minimising food waste through proper portion control and storage practices.
Work collaboratively with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations. What we're looking for:
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) is preferred but not essential where sufficient industry experience can be demonstrated.
- A valid Food Safety Certificate (or equivalent) and a sound understanding of NSW food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork skills, reliability and attention to detail.
