Acumen Accounting and Advisory – Cairns QLD

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accountant to join our boutique accounting firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable professional who enjoys working closely with clients, providing practical advice, and being part of a supportive and dynamic team environment.

Our firm delivers tailored accounting, taxation and business advisory solutions to a diverse client base across a range of industries. We pride ourselves on providing end-to-end financial support and building strong, long‑term relationships with our clients.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in public practice and will be confident in preparing and reviewing:

- Income Tax Returns
- Business Activity Statements
- Taxable Payments Annual Reports
- Business advisory work for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders.

You will work with a broad range of clients and be involved in providing accurate, timely, and practical accounting and taxation support.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- CA or CPA qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience in public practice




- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment
- Sound understanding of accounting software, including Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and Dext.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to client services.
- Experience with Xero Practice Manager will be advantageous but is not essential.
- Knowledge of Self‑Managed Superannuation Funds, audit experience, and QBCC reporting will be highly regarded.
