Clinical Nurse (Childrens Ambulatory Care)
Provide specialty paediatric care and ongoing follow up and management of neonates through to young people transitioning to adult care, and their families.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurse's (Children's Ambulatory Care) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide routine and complex care for patients ranging in age from neonates to late adolescents
- Require knowledge and skills in Paediatric Life support, as well as recent Acute Paediatric Nursing Experience
- Work with the multidisciplinary team to provide direct care, education and support to patients
- Display exceptional skilled behaviour and provide guidance and education
- Contribute to the development and review of workplace guidelines in collaboration with the Management, Education and multidisciplinary teams
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Permanent full time and permanent part time (one full time position or several part time positions, hours negotiable)
- Base salary ranging from $57.76 - $61.85 per hour
About Us
The Children's Ambulatory Care Service includes the Children's Outpatient Department (OPD), the Paediatric Day Admissions Unit (PDAU), Children's Complex Care Services and Children's Hospital in the Home which are part of Children's Health Service within the Gold Coast University Hospital. The PDAU provides care for patients ranging in age from neonates to late adolescents who require medical, surgical or oncology day procedures. The Children's OPD provides specialty paediatric care and ongoing follow up and management of neonates through to young people transitioning to adult care, and their families. Services include general and specialised Paediatric Medicine, Paediatric Surgery, Cardiology, Subspeciality, Tertiary Outreach and acute Nursing and Allied Health. Children's OPD and PDAU provides service from Monday to Friday.
