The Role

The Financial Controller will strengthen Woodville Alliance's financial control environment, ensuring accurate accounting, balance sheet integrity, audit readiness and compliant month-end and year-end reporting. Working closely with the Executive Finance Manager, this role provides technical accounting leadership across core finance operations, including AP, AR, payroll accounting, reconciliations, cash management and statutory reporting support.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional who can translate accounting standards, policies and controls into practical processes that support reliable reporting and sound governance.

Main Duties

Lead month-end close processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and review of key postings.

Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring they are prepared, reviewed and actioned within agreed timelines.

Support annual financial statements,



audit workpapers, statutory reporting and auditor requests.

Oversee AP, AR, banking, cash receipts and payroll accounting processes.

Maintain and improve internal controls across delegations, approvals, data integrity and segregation of duties.

Contribute to finance system improvements, automation and reporting processes across programs, cost centres and funding streams.

Provide supervision, coaching and workload prioritisation for the Finance Officer and Payroll Officer.

Selection Criteria

Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, business or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

CPA or CA qualification, completed or well advanced, is highly desirable.

Strong technical accounting capability, including reconciliations, audit preparation and statutory reporting support.

Experience in financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, billing or finance operations relevant to the role.

Robust understanding of internal controls, financial systems, data integrity and process improvement.

Proficiency in MYOB or similar accounting systems, Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.

Experience in disability, NDIS, aged care or broader human services is highly desirable.

High attention to detail, confidentiality, deadline focus and explicit communication skills.
