About Rundle Tailoring

Rundle Tailoring has been helping people look their best for life’s biggest moments for over 118 years. Founded in 1908, our fourth-generation, family-run business is one of the Hunter region’s longest-standing menswear destinations, known for expert suiting, quality craftsmanship and personalised service.

Based in the heart of Newcastle, we offer ready-to-wear and made-to-measure suiting for men and women, formal hire and in-house tailoring and alterations. As a small, close-knit team, we pride ourselves on genuine customer care and an inclusive, supportive work environment.

We’re now looking for an experienced retail professional with a passion for menswear to join our showroom team on a casual basis.

Why you’ll love working with us

Competitive casual rate: $30–$45 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications).

Generous staff discounts on clothing.

Learn the art of suiting – hands-on training in fitting, styling and alterations from our 4th-generation tailor.

No hard KPIs or pushy sales targets – we focus on genuine service and long-term relationships.

Variety in your day across fittings, styling, merchandising, formal hire and events.

Be part of a respected, family-owned Newcastle business with over a century of heritage.

About the role

As a Sales & Styling Consultant, you’ll help customers feel confident and look their best – from weddings and school formals to business and everyday wear.

You will:

Welcome customers and provide warm, personalised service.

Style clients in suits,

shirts and accessories for weddings, formals and qualified wear.

Take measurements and support fittings to ensure the perfect fit.

Coordinate formal hire, including try-ons, pick-ups and returns.

Assist with visual merchandising, store presentation and stock management.

Liaise with our in-house tailoring team to deliver alterations on time.

This is a casual role with a minimum of 3 days per week. You must be available to work Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with potential for additional shifts for the right candidate.

About you

You’re a people-focused retailer who loves menswear and understands what great service looks like.

You’ll bring:

Previous retail experience in menswear, fashion, suiting and/or made to measure tailoring (highly regarded).

A strong eye for fit, style and detail.

Confidence styling customers for weddings, special events and workwear.

Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, professional manner.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.

Reliability, punctuality and a can-do attitude.

Availability to work Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays on a regular basis. More hours available for experienced candidate

If you’ve worked in menswear stores and are looking for a role where you can use your styling skills, build real relationships and learn from master tailors, this could be the perfect next step.
