Lancasters Electrical is a Queensland-owned and operated electrical contracting and industrial automation business, with an established reputation across the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and regional Queensland. We work across commercial construction, industrial automation, and water/wastewater infrastructure, and we’re looking for an experienced Estimator to help drive our next stage of growth.
About the role
You’ll be the numbers behind the wins — estimating commercial construction fit-outs, small-to-medium industrial projects, and switchboard/control system works. This is a hands-on role with real ownership of the estimating process, working directly with the Director on pricing strategy and tender submissions.
What you’ll be doing
- Estimating electrical works for commercial construction projects (fit-outs, new builds, refurbishments $500k - $1.5m)
- Pricing small industrial projects — control systems, motor control, switchboard supply
- Reading and interpreting drawings, SLDs, and specifications to build accurate cost breakdowns
- Sourcing supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Preparing tender documentation, returnable schedules,
and WHS compliance documents
- Handing over won projects cleanly to the delivery team
What you’ll bring
- Solid experience estimating commercial construction electrical works (essential)
- Comfortable pricing smaller industrial jobs — panels, control gear, motors, VSDs
- Robust drawing and specification literacy
- Sharp attention to detail and a genuine care about getting numbers right
- Ability to juggle multiple quotes and deadlines without dropping the ball
Highly regarded
- Switchboard quoting experience (AS/NZS 61439, enclosure systems such as Elsteel)
- Exposure to industrial automation or process control environments
Why join Lancasters

- Genuine variety of work — commercial builds through to industrial automation
- Direct line to the Director — fast decisions, no corporate layers
- Real opportunity to shape estimating processes as the business scales
