At Sutherland Shire Council, we are committed to delivering safe, accessible and well-maintained facilities that support our vibrant and growing community. We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Technical Officer to Facilities to join our Facility Operations team and help ensure Council's diverse portfolio of buildings and infrastructure remains protected, compliant and fit for purpose.

Reporting to the Coordinator Facility Maintenance, you will coordinate and monitor planned and reactive maintenance across Council's building assets, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

- Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance programs across Council facilities
- Manage work orders, inspections and defects through Council systems
- Monitor contractor performance, safety and compliance
- Provide technical advice on facility maintenance and asset condition
- Assist with maintenance scheduling, budgeting and reporting
- Conduct site inspections and support compliance with relevant standards and legislation
- Identify risks, defects and opportunities for service improvement
- Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes and systems
- Act in the Coordinator role during periods of leave when required

About You

You are a hands-on facilities or trade professional who enjoys problem-solving and ensuring critical infrastructure operates safely and efficiently.

You will bring:

- Trade qualification (Certificate III) in Electrical, Plumbing,



Carpentry or similar
- Current Driver Licence and White Card
- Experience in facilities maintenance, building operations or contractor management
- Understanding of building codes, safety standards and compliance requirements
- Experience monitoring maintenance works, budgets or schedules
- Strong organisation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Building, Engineering, Project Management or related field
- Experience in local government or large asset portfolios
- Experience using Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems
