Tara Forklift Services is a national forklift hire, sales, and service company with our head office based in Wetherill Park. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Workshop Manager to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you will play a key part in managing and coordinating workshop service jobs, repairs, and preparations for hires, ensuring a seamless process and maintaining a high level of quality across our growing hire fleet.

While experience in workshop management is preferred, we welcome candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, aptitude, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate and manage workshop operations, including preparation for hire, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure all jobs meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
- Implement and refine processes to improve efficiency and team cohesion.
- Oversee spare parts inventory and ensure required stocks are maintained.
- Coordinate parts ordering for workshop repairs and services.
- Maintain safety standards within the workshop, conduct toolbox meetings, and provide necessary training.




- Manage workshop jobs and purchase orders within the Baseplan system.
- Run reports to assist with planning and coordinate with other departments on project timelines and inventory.
- Coordinate and prepare accurate quotes for both internal and external customers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.

Qualifications

- Any Cert III in Automotive/Diesel/Heavy Diesel/Fleet/Forklifts, or a relevant field, is highly preferred, but not essential for the right candidate. However, mechanical knowledge is necessary.
- Previous experience in Workshop Management/Coordination, or a related field, is preferred, but not essential for the right candidate.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Baseplan software is preferable but not essential.
- Problem-solving abilities and leadership skills
