The Role
Working as part of a collaborative and FUN people function, you will assist with WHS reporting, workplace inspections, workstation assessments, first aid coordination, wellbeing initiatives and committee support. This is a varied role with a strong focus on compliance, employee support, record keeping and practical WHS delivery.
You will be joining a small, busy team who all love what they do and are keen to support your career. This is a 12 month opportunity available via an s26 transfer or non-ongoing engagement.
This role will suit someone with existing WHS experience in the government, or Government HR experience and a willingness and passion to learn WHS.
Some of your duties may include:
- Coordinating first aid officers, including tracking allowances, certifications, audits of first aid kits and AEDs
- Supporting the delivery of employee health and wellbeing programs, including flu vaccination programs and awareness campaigns
- Coordinating workstation assessment requests and supporting ergonomic workplace arrangements
- Assisting with WHS data capture, reporting and dashboard updates
- Coordinating quarterly workplace inspections across multiple office locations
- Tracking incidents and hazards and maintaining accurate WHS records
- Supporting Work Health and Safety Committee secretariat duties,
including agendas, papers, schedules and action registers
- Maintaining WHS records, file notes and documentation in line with internal record keeping requirements
To be considered for this role, you will bring:
- Government experience supporting WHS, HR, wellbeing or people-related functions
- Strong coordination and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Confidence managing competing priorities and following through on actions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience preparing meeting papers, maintaining action registers or supporting committee processes
- An understanding of WHS obligations, workplace safety practices and employee wellbeing initiatives
