We are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join Chess on a new SEQ Project. This role is based in Kalbar, QLD and offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic construction environment. As a Contract Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution and management of contracts, supporting project delivery and maintaining compliance with contractual obligations. This position is fundamental to our operations, bridging the gap between our project teams, stakeholders and contractual requirements.
What you'll be doing
- Managing contract documentation and maintaining accurate records of all contract-related correspondence and amendments
- Monitoring contractor performance and ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions
- Processing variations, claims and change orders in a timely and efficient manner
- Liaising between internal teams, contractors and clients to resolve contract-related issues and disputes
- Preparing and maintaining schedules, timelines and milestone tracking documentation
- Conducting regular contract reviews to ensure all parties are meeting their obligations
- Assisting with contract administration procedures and the development of best practice processes
- Coordinating with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure contractual alignment with project execution
- Identifying and flagging potential contract risks and recommending mitigation strategies
- Preparing reports on contract performance and status for management review
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in contract administration within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including management and administration procedures
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and record-keeping skills
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Understanding of contractual obligations, variations and claims management
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a team environment
- High level of professionalism and integrity in handling sensitive contractual matters
- A qualification in construction management, contracts management or related field is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Australian construction industry standards and practices
