PCA Ground Engineering is a specialist ground engineering and civil construction contractor operating across Queensland and New South Wales. With 150+ staff and a strong project pipeline spanning piling, retention systems, ground improvement, and civil construction, we deliver complex infrastructure for government and council clients across the east coast.

Recruitment is genuinely business-critical here. We hire approximately 80+people per year across construction, operations, and project management, and we need someone who understands that environment from the inside.

About the role

This is a standalone internal recruitment role reporting directly to the Head of Finance & HR. You will own the full recruitment lifecycle - from vacancy briefing through to onboarding - and manage a high-volume pipeline of roles per year focused predominantly on construction, operations, and project management talent at junior through management levels.

A key early deliverable will to assist with the rollout and configuration of Employment Hero recruitment module, onboarding workflows, and candidate pipeline setup.

What you'll be doing

Managing end-to-end recruitment across construction, operations, project management, engineering, and corporate functions

Partnering with hiring managers to develop targeted recruitment plans across our labour force pipeline

Writing job advertisements and sourcing candidates via Seek, LinkedIn Recruiter, Employment Hero SmartMatch, and internal referral channels

Screening, interviewing, conducting reference checks, and coordinating offers

Owning end-to-end onboarding via Employment Hero: contracts, TFN and superannuation, policy acknowledgements, certifications, and onboarding checklists





Tracking and reporting on recruitment metrics: time to fill, cost per hire, attrition, source of hire, and remuneration benchmarking

Coordinating with PCA's immigration partner to support employee sponsorship where required

Maintaining position descriptions, the organisational chart, and recruitment filing

Coordinating induction plans with various teams across the business

What you'll bring

5+ years of internal recruitment experience, ideally within construction, civil infrastructure, or a related technical environment

Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume recruitment pipelines in a rapid-paced, project-driven business

Experience with Employment Hero or a comparable HRIS platform; hands-on experience with platform implementation or system transition is highly regarded

High-level proficiency across Microsoft 365; comfortable with AI tools in a professional context

Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels - from site crews to directors

Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to run multiple concurrent processes without things falling through the cracks
