Summer Intern Program

Our Summer Intern Program is a structured and supported program that runs for 12 weeks from 30 November to February 2027 and gives you a taste of what it's like to work with us and the energy infrastructure industry.
What can you expect?
A blend of office and field work supporting our Senior Construction Environmental Advisor while you're learning and gaining hands‑on experience.
Travel to our construction sites to assist in the development of assurance-based plans and materials, which will be fully arranged and paid for by APA.
A fully supported program offering comprehensive on‑boarding and induction, as well as virtual workshops with your peer cohort and in‑person social activites and networking.
About You
You are currently in your penultimate year of a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or similar
You're achieving an overall credit average (65 WAM or GPA equivalent)
You're available to complete a 12-week intern program from 30 November 2026 (we will close over the Christmas and New Year period)
You're an Australian / New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident in Australia
To be successful in this role you are someone who:
Enjoys learning - asking questions and building confidence through experience, knowing your don't need to have all the answers on day one.
Has a strong sense of responsibility and care - you take pride delivering accurate, well‑considered work, are attentive to detail, and are motivated to learn how environmental assurance,
compliance and sustainable practices support successul project delivery.
Has a cooperative mind set - you value teamwork, bring others along with you and feel comfortable learning from people with different perspectives, disciplines and backgrounds.
Is motivated to contribute - to projects that support Australia's energy future and is excited by the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience helping deliver environmental outcomes across APA's construction activities.
