This newly created position is ideal for an experienced tax professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with trusted advisory relationships. You'll become the primary tax adviser to our partners, managing their personal tax affairs while helping shape the systems, processes, and experience that underpin this important function. Working closely with Finance, Payroll, HR and the partnership, you'll ensure partners receive proactive, accurate and seamless support throughout the year.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of partner tax affairs, including individual income tax returns, PAYG instalments, and associated compliance obligations.
- Act as the trusted point of contact for partners, providing practical, commercial tax advice and clear guidance on complex tax matters.
- Work closely with Finance, Payroll and People & Culture to ensure partner remuneration, distributions and benefits are treated correctly for tax purposes.
- Lead annual tax planning activities and provide proactive advice throughout the financial year.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, assessing their impact on partnership and equity structures and communicating implications to stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver tax briefings and onboarding sessions for new and existing partners.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and the overall partner experience across all tax touchpoints.
About You
You'll be a technically strong tax qualified who enjoys building trusted relationships and simplifying complex issues for senior stakeholders.
- Significant experience in Australian taxation, ideally within a professional services or partnership environment.
- CA or CPA qualification (essential).
- Strong knowledge of partnership taxation, trust structures and individual tax matters.
- Experience managing end-to-end tax compliance processes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a practical and accessible way.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills and confidence working with senior leaders and partners.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
