Job Description:
BT Imaging is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical and Control Systems Engineer to join our growing Technology team. In this role, you will lead the delivery and project management of electrical, control, and automation engineering work for advanced hardware products. You will collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, and product teams to design, implement, and validate complex systems used in high-precision imaging and manufacturing environments.
This position is ideal for an engineer who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced with the full lifecycle of hardware product development—from concept and design through commissioning and integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute electrical and control system design activities for hardware product development, with a specialization in 2 or more of the numbered design/development categories listed below:
Conduct calibration and assembly of in-house made high-precision power supply units
Evaluate electrical design and thermal management in existing power supply hardware
Lead electrical and PCB design changes and deliver prototype iterations for improved power supply hardware to enable market-leading specifications for voltage and current control and sensing.
Design PCB schematics and layouts using KiCAD, including component selection and review for manufacturability.
(2) Wiring & Electrical Design:
Design electrical schematics and control architectures using SolidWorks Electrical including one-line diagram / schematic design, BOM generation, electrical documentation & version control.
Evaluate application requirements and select appropriate hardware components
(3) Control Systems & PLC:
Program, test, and deploy control logic (structured text) using Keyence and/or Beckhoff PLCs (TwinCAT environment) for HMI, SCADA and Safety systems.
Develop QC and test protocols for PLC / control systems to enable rapid field testing and deployment
Support system start-up, automation and hardware troubleshooting, and validation during pre-production phases.
Modify existing electrical and control systems to support hardware changes and upgrades for existing machine vision imaging products
Project manage engineering deliverables, schedules, risks, and documentation for assigned work packages.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical, mechanical, and software components.
Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and safety standards, and best engineering practices.
Develop, maintain, and review engineering documentation, test plans, and reports.
Support technology and product development teams for other tasks as required (e.g. hardware communication, root cause analysis and cost down efforts)
