This is a rare chance for a seasoned OSHC qualified to step into the top operational leadership role at a large, well-established and highly regarded service. Wellers Hill School Age Child Care Service (SACCS) is run by the Wellers Hill State School P&C; Association and has grown into a thriving hub of the school community. Approved for 300 places across Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care, the service has a team of nearly 40 educators and management staff.

About the role

Reporting to the P&C; Association Executive, the Service Manager holds overall responsibility for the strategic, financial and operational leadership of the service and takes on the position of Nominated Supervisor. You'll set the direction, safeguard quality and compliance, and lead a large team to deliver a program that is consistent with the National Quality Standard and brings the My Time, Our Place framework to life.

You will lead, guide and develop the service's Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator, Lead Educators and Educators - building a culture of high performance, high morale and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be instrumental in re-shaping the structure of the OSHC service to align the roles and responsibilities for quality service provision into the future.

What you'll do

Lead the strategy and the standard





- Set and drive strategic plans that grow the service's quality, sustainability and reach
- Report on milestones and performance, and hold the service to an exceeding standard across every quality area
- Lead the re-structure of the service to ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly designated and resourced for quality service provision into the future.

Own operational excellence and compliance

- Ensure day-to-day operations comply with Education and Care Services legislation and the National Quality Framework
- Develop sound policies and procedures, and confidently maintain all legal and regulatory obligations, resolving and reporting discrepancies to the Approved Provider
- Champion critical reflection, quality improvement and contemporary, play-based practice

Keep children safe and well

- Lead risk assessment, hazard identification and workplace health and safety across the service
- Support the child protection risk management strategy and manage the response to incidents and significant events

Manage the numbers

- Steward the service's finances as delegated by the P&C; to keep it in a strong, sustainable position
- Deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis, and spot opportunities for smarter business practice

Grow and support the team

- Lead recruitment, induction, rostering (to qualification and ratio requirements), performance reviews and development plans
- Foster a positive, supportive culture and build the capability of educators and leaders
- Maintain sound HR administration, records, and workforce planning, including monitoring blue card (WWCC) currency

Partner with families and the community

- Build warm, respectful relationships with families, school leadership and the wider community
- Respond to concerns and complaints fairly and transparently, and build partnerships across the OSHC sector

What you'll bring

Qualifications

- Essential: Diploma of Children's Services (or equivalent), plus evidence of relevant ongoing training and learning
- Desirable: A tertiary (bachelor-level) qualification in a relevant discipline

Knowledge

- Sound, applied understanding of OSHC operations, including the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
- Sound, applied,



current knowledge of the Child Safe Standards, the Reportable Conduct Scheme, mandatory reporting obligations, and the paramountcy principle.
- Contemporary business, human resources and quality-improvement know-how
- Financial literacy, including budgeting and financial reporting
- Strong knowledge of child development, quality practice and My Time, Our Place

Experience and skills

- A track record of building quality within a service and lifting the experiences and outcomes for children and families
- The ability to draw on relevant theory, research and frameworks to critically evaluate and extend children's learning, with an eye to equity and social justice
- Demonstrated experience embedding a child safe culture and responding to child safety concerns, disclosures or allegations.
- Experience supervising and managing staff, including rostering, recruitment and selection, and facilitating their learning and growth
- Experience working within legislative frameworks and contributing to a service's strategic direction
- Desirable: Leading strategic direction with a high degree of autonomy, writing organisational policy that operationalises legislative obligations, and independently managing a large, diverse team

The successful applicant will require a current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) as well as demonstrated completion of the National Child Safety Training before beginning in the role and will be subject to the service's recruitment and screening processes.
