We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Payroll Officer to join our Finance team in a full-time capacity, based in our Kunda Park Depot/Office.

In this role, you will manage a high-volume end-to-end payroll cycle, support accurate and timely payroll processing, interpret relevant Agreements, Awards and National Employment Standards, and provide professional guidance to employees on pay-related matters.

Your accuracy, discretion and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining compliance and supporting a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete the end-to-end processing of payroll, across Qld, Regional NSW and/or NT
- Manage manual pay adjustments and ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and on time.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance within the payroll function, adhering to the relevant agreement, award, company policies, and legal requirements.
- Respond promptly to payroll-related queries from People & Culture, Operations or employees.
- Prepare detailed payroll reports for management, focusing on payroll trends and time and attendance data.
- Collaborate with the internal payroll teams, finance teams, and audit partners to ensure seamless operations and accurate reporting across the organisation.
- Support month-end and year-end processes as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the payroll system technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

Required Experience

- Previous experience in a payroll position,



with a minimum of two years' experience and a solid understanding of payroll functions and systems.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Micropay is preferred, but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to assist in the interpretation of relevant Agreements, Award conditions, National Employment Standards (NES), and other employment regulations.
- Tech-savvy with a continuous improvement mindset to optimise payroll processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.
