Purpose of the Role

The role of the Quality Engineer is to provide support to the quality team, including maintaining project reporting requirements of regular and repeated quality related items as well as developing corrective measures and implementing quality control systems.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field

Experience

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality control and/or quality assurance roles within the construction sector on large scale infrastructure projects or other suitable projects works
- Proficiency in quality management processes documentation execution
- Understanding of project management methodologies
- Knowledge and understanding of quality management and systems integration
- Good written and verbal communication skills for reporting and resolving quality issues, data collection, tracking and analysis, documentation, administrative and organizational skills and computer literacy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)




- Ability to work effectively and positively in a fast-paced setting
- High level of initiative, self-drive and enthusiasm to succeed and progress tasks
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, manage expectations and coordinate priorities
- Strategic thinking mindset
- Well-developed time management skills
- Understanding of manufacturing and installation processes, methods, specifications and drawings related to Civil, Geotech, E&M;
- Understanding of inspection process and inspection record managements
- Understanding of audit and validation processes
- Stakeholder management skills across different levels

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

- Prepare and review Inspection and Test Plan (ITPs), Method Statements, and other construction documents to ensure compliance with the relevant design and specifications.
- Undertake quality inspections on-site and on subcontractor worksites.
- Communicate and resolve any design and quality issues proactively with relevant (CW, E&M;) worksite team and responsible departments.
- Ensures compliance with method planning and its implementation, including the use of checklists, adherence to material manufacturers’ instructions, and other relevant procedural documentation.




- Inspect and verify the release of internal HPs as per the project nominated designated authorities in the HP register. Participate in the review of external HPs as required.
- Application of ITPs including calibration control of measuring and testing equipment.
- Assist in lot identification in accordance with project requirements; including both direct and sub-contract works, procured materials and services.
- Verify product compliance by reviewing lot records and closing them out when compliant.
- Assist with communicating quality process through process training and reporting.
- Monitor suppliers’ compliance with the Project quality requirements.
- Provide input to determine and assist in the analysis of NCR root causes. Review the status of NCRs, implement actions as required and forward completed NCRs to Quality Manager for close-out.
- Liaise with the project teams in undertaking audits of contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers, as required.
- Implement and maintain quality system documents and records, and ensure all other records are managed effectively for the project through the document control software GLAASS.
- Prepare internal weekly/ monthly quality reports as required.
- Assist the Quality team with the preparation of the project quality dashboard monthly.
