MH5 Ltd is a privately owned business and proud franchisee of Hertz Australia. We operate in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment and are seeking an Assistant Accountant to support our finance function as the business continues to grow.
About the role
This is a practical, hands‑on role for someone who enjoys being across the detail and contributing across all areas of the finance function. You will work closely with the finance team and CFO, taking ownership of key month‑end processes and day‑to‑day accounting tasks in a fast‑paced operational environment.
Key responsibilities
- Month‑end close including P&L; preparation, balance sheet reconciliations and journals
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable processing and reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
- BAS, GST and PAYG compliance support
- Cashflow reporting assistance
- Backup support across the finance team as required
- Assisting with ad‑hoc reporting and finance administration
- Working collaboratively with all members of the finance team
About you
- Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance, or working toward CPA/CA qualification
- 3-5 years experience in a similar hands‑on accounting role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working across multiple tasks in a fast‑paced workplace
- A team player who is happy to roll up their sleeves and get things done
- Experience with MYOB or similar accounting software an advantage
