Village Dental Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team in Bowral, NSW. This is a full time position offering an exciting opportunity to work in a progressive dental practice committed to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our dental professionals and ensuring a smooth, efficient, and welcoming experience for all our patients. This position is based on-site at our Bowral location and is essential to the day-to-day operations of our practice.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting dentists and dental hygienists during clinical procedures and treatments
- Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising dental instruments according to infection control protocols
- Managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate documentation
- Welcoming patients, answering enquiries, and ensuring a friendly reception experience
- Assisting with patient education regarding oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the dental practice
- Processing patient payments and administrative tasks
- Supporting the dental team with inventory management and supply ordering

What we're looking for

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach




- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control protocols is preferred but not essential as training will be provided
- Proficiency with software and basic computer skills
- Physical capability to work chairside and perform manual tasks throughout the day
- A commitment to professional development and staying current with dental knowledge
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Current immunisations as required by dental practice standards
- Optimistic outlook and good problem solving skills
