About the Role
Due to growing demand across key sectors - including manufacturing, infrastructure, minerals, and energy - we're expanding our control systems team and seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join us in Gladstone.
This permanent role offers the opportunity to work on both greenfield projects and plant upgrades. You’ll lead design development, create technical documentation, and collaborate directly with clients from concept through to commissioning. Expect a balance of office‑based design work and hands‑on site involvement including data collection, installation support, troubleshooting, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
Interpreting client project requirements and preparing design documents and drawings, scopes of work, functional specifications, etc
Carrying out investigations, studies and detailed design of PLC, SCADA & Telemetry Systems
Configuration, programming and documentation for these systems
Preparation of FAT and SAT documentation
Managing project schedules and budgets
Working unsupervised and leading small project teams
Assisting in the preparation of proposals and quotations
Providing coaching and mentoring for junior engineers
About You
We are looking for a candidate who brings:
Proven ability to communicate and interface with a variety of stakeholders such as clients, management, peers, other disciplines,
suppliers and installation contractors
Ability to manage small project teams
Experience in the preparation of design documentation including drawings, specifications, scopes of work etc
Excellent PLC skills – especially Rockwell, Schneider, and Siemens
Proven SCADA configuration and programming – Aveva, FTView & Honeywell Experion
Configuration of HMI Systems, such as PanelViews and Magelis/Harmony
Working knowledge of functional safety and/or machine safety systems
IT server and workstation platforms, including latest Windows and VM environments
Testing (FAT) and Commissioning (SAT) experience with machinery and materials handling
Qualifications/Experience Required
Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering – recognised by the Institution of Engineers Australia as full chartered engineer
Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland or eligible for RPEQ (Mandatory)
Minimum of eight (8) years relevant Control Systems engineering experience, predominately in an industrial and consulting environment is expected
