About the role

DigiCo is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our growing team. This is a full-time position based in Sydney NSW. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing commercial contracts, negotiations, and relationships across our construction projects. You will play a critical part in ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual obligations. This position offers the chance to make a significant impact on the commercial success of our organisation whilst working with a dynamic team on high-profile construction initiatives.

Key responsibilities

Managing and administering all commercial aspects of construction contracts, including variations, claims, and disputes

Negotiating terms and conditions with contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to protect company interests

Preparing and reviewing commercial documentation including tender submissions, contracts, and commercial proposals

Monitoring project budgets, expenditure, and cashflow forecasts to ensure financial targets are met

Identifying and managing commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle

Liaising with project managers, finance teams, and external stakeholders to ensure commercial alignment

Maintaining detailed records of contractual obligations,



payment schedules, and key milestones

Providing commercial advice and strategic guidance to senior management on project and contract matters

Resolving commercial disputes and managing claims processes in a timely and professional manner

What we're looking for

Extensive experience in commercial contracts management within the construction industry, ideally gained on large-scale or complex projects

Solid knowledge of construction contracts, including understanding of standard forms such as AS 4000-1997 and other industry-standard templates

Proven experience in contract negotiation, variations management, and claims administration

Solid financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, forecast costs, and manage project cashflow

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively at all levels

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously

Proficiency with relevant software and systems for contract management and project administration

Professional certification in construction contracts management or equivalent recognised qualification is highly desirable

The ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

Sound understanding of construction law, risk management, and commercial best practice
