Pro-Active Maintenance & Engineering is a company that has been operating in Brisbane, Australia since 1998. We provide general engineering services, maintenance of plant equipment and custom machine design and building.
Pro-Active Maintenance & Engineering specializes in design and development of innovative automation and engineering solutions. From design, machining, fabrication and manufacture to installation and maintenance, we have the capacity to do it all in-house, so we can manage all aspects of the project.
We are based in Sumner, Brisbane, Queensland and work with companies and businesses of all sizes throughout Australia and internationally.
Mechanical Fitter
You will have the requisite ability, confidence and knowledge to:
- Carry out detailed parts organization for each machine build.
- Provide technical and skilled ability to successfully assemble packaging machinery.
- Perform critical knowledge in specifying spare parts and drawings.
- Assemble and check spare parts and assemblies prior to dispatch.
- Communicate in a clear and professional manner to team members and clients.
- Have a proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.
- Provide attention to detail.
- Availability to work weekends when required
- Eager to assist with servicing within the facility as well as various client's sites within the Food Industry.
Qualifications / Skills Required
- Completion of suitable mechanical trade qualification, (Cert III Engineering - Engineering - Mechanical Trade - or equivalent)
- Knowledge of packaging specifications,
FMCG and processing equipment, (preferred but not critical).
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- FMCG mechanical experience.
- Proven high mechanical aptitude.
- Basic manual machining ability preferred but not critical.
- Sound knowledge with pneumatics
- Hands-on technical experience assembling end-of-line packaging equipment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Parts and component identification to suit each machine build.
- Work within a team as well as independently.
- Assembling and installing pneumatic equipment
- Assemble and align mechanical bearings, motor gearboxes, lineal shafts & belt drives
- Identifying and rectifying mechanical faults.
- Creating and maintaining a positive working relationship with customers and employees
- Working unsupervised
- Working flexible schedule as required - due to the nature of this role, weekend work maybe requested to assist within the servicing department.
- Ensuring all OH&S; legislation, company, customer safety policies and procedures are considered and adhered to at all times.
- The ability to generate and complete safe work method statement (SWMS) prior to commencing site work.
- Identifying and communicating updates and improvements to existing manuals. (ISO)
- Performance of service such as specifying spare parts and drawings.
- Assembling and checking spare parts and assemblies prior to dispatch.
- Provide end-to-end technical knowledge through FAT testing and commissioning.
- Be required to have suitable personal hand tools as part of your trade requirement.
- Complete all work to a high standard while meeting all internal and clients expectations.
