We are looking for an independent, hard working individual to create and manage our social media presence.

The role is within the Queensland Government and will require you to develop online content for projects occurring right across the state. You’ll be working with various internal and external stakeholders to deliver consistent and effective messaging about the Queensland Government’s priorities.

Experience in infrastructure or transport would be of benefit but is not required. Photography and videography abilities would be well regarded.

You will trusted with safeguarding our social media reputation, navigating complex political landscapes and communicating clearly and with a high degree of integrity.

The role may require occasional travel across Queensland.

What you will be doing?





- Developing and implementing social media plans as part of wider media campaigns.
- Creating content including photo and videos that tell a story.
- Monitoring and analysing social media performance and managing social media interactions with Queenslanders.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent, effective and accurate messaging.

About the team

You will be working within a small media team and with a focus on social media management. As it is a small team, sometimes you will be asked to help out with managing media events and writing releases.

We have a highly cooperative team that is changing the way people and goods move across Queensland.
