About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our busy workshop and yard operations at our QLD facility. Reporting to the National Plant Manager, you will oversee the maintenance, planning and performance of Keller's plant and equipment, ensuring our projects receive safe, reliable and compliant assets when they need them.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will manage workshop personnel, coordinate maintenance activities, drive continuous improvement initiatives and work closely with operational teams to support projects across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the safe and efficient operation of the workshop and yard, ensuring equipment is maintained and ready to support project delivery
Manage and develop workshop personnel, fostering a high‑performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs to maximise fleet reliability, availability, and asset performance
Ensure compliance with Keller HSEQ requirements, industry standards,
and legislative obligations.
Manage workshop budgets and P&L; performance, driving cost control, productivity improvements, and value‑for‑money outcomes
Plan and coordinate labour, resources, and equipment to meet operational and project mobilisation requirements
Partner with Operations and project teams to align equipment availability with current and future business needs
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including workshop efficiency, asset optimisation, and maintenance best practices
Manage supplier and contractor relationships to ensure quality service, commercial value, and reliable support
Provide technical expertise and support for major tenders, fleet planning, and strategic business initiatives
About You
You are an experienced maintenance or workshop leader who enjoys leading teams, solving problems and ensuring equipment performs at its best. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment and are passionate about safety, quality and delivering operational excellence.
You will also bring:
Trade qualified with a certificate III in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or equivalent mechanical background
Demonstrated experience leading workshop or maintenance teams within construction, mining or heavy industry
Strong understanding of heavy plant and equipment maintenance
Experience managing maintenance schedules, budgets and workshop performance
Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace
Construction Industry White Card
Strong organisational, planning and communication skills
