ADD VALUE - THE ROLE

The Utilities Electricianworks within our Electrical team and is an integral part of the Water and Sewer Network Delivery Team who together provide operation, installation, maintenance and repair works for Council’s water and sewer distribution and treatment systems along with maintenance and installation work at Council owned facilities.

This Utilities Electrician is primarily responsible for the inspection, repair, maintenance, construction, operation and testing of Council’s water and sewer electrical systems, including electrical (ELV, LV, HV), electronic, instrumentation, telemetry, PLC and SCADA,



the monitoring compliance with the electrical requirements of Council, providing technical support for customer related issues and assisting in the review of engineering design and assessments. Planning and scheduling works is an significant part of this role.

Essential to this role is a Certificate III in Electrotechnology with current licence and thorough understanding of the Wiring Rules (AS3000) and the reference standards, complemented by demonstrated experience in the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems and understanding of electrical work as it relates to water utility operations.

A Qualified Supervisor Certificate – Electrician, or equivalent, would be advantageous in this role, however not essential.

This position is offered on a Permanent, Full-time basis working 76 hours per fortnight on a team based 9-day fortnight roster. This position participates in the on-call roster. Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 10 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of$3305 to $3718 per fortnight plus:

- Market Allowance: $329 per fortnight
- Retention Allowance: $2,142 after 12 months service




- Superannuation:12% superannuation and other award allowances in accordance with the Local Government (State) Electrical Award.

In addition to the base salary, a daily on-call allowance that equates to up to $449 per week when rostered, and regular overtime are available. This position has access to a commuter use vehicle.

The Utilities Electrician is required to participate in operational and on-call rosters.
