Little Leapers is seeking a Diploma qualified Room Leader to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an exciting chance to lead and inspire young learners in our South Wentworthville NSW 2145 facility. As Room Leader, you will take on a strategic role in managing daily operations, fostering a nurturing environment, and leading a team of educators. This position is fundamental to maintaining our high standards of early childhood education and care, directly contributing to the development and wellbeing of the children in your care and the success of our centre.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a dedicated team of educators within your designated room, providing mentorship, support and professional guidance
- Plan and implement educational programmes that align with early childhood frameworks and promote holistic child development
- Create and maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive learning environment that supports children's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development
- Conduct regular observations and assessments of child progress, documenting developmental milestones and sharing insights with families
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding their child's learning, development and wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with all relevant early childhood education standards, regulations and health and safety requirements
- Manage room resources, materials and equipment, ensuring they are age-appropriate, well-maintained and organised
- Foster positive relationships with children, families and colleagues,
promoting a collaborative and supportive workplace culture
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
What we’re looking for
- Valid Early Childhood qualification recognised by ACECQA
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance
- Demonstrated experience working in an early childhood education and care setting, with evidence of leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development theories, learning frameworks (such as the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework) and best practice in early childhood education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with children, families and team members
- Proven capability to manage a room effectively, including planning, organising and coordinating educational programmes and daily routines
- Sound understanding of child safeguarding, health and safety requirements, and commitment to maintaining a secure environment
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team whilst also taking initiative and working independently
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to supporting children's growth and development
