The Role
We're seeking an experienced Final Trim Grader Operator to join our team on civil construction projects across Far North Queensland. You'll be operating a GPS-equipped grader to deliver final trim and finished surfaces to tight tolerances on roadworks, subdivisions, and bulk civil projects.
What You'll Be Doing
- Final trim and finished grading to design on civil projects
- Operating a Trimble GPS machine control equipped grader
- Trimming subgrade, pavements, batters, and drainage to tight tolerances
- Box cuts, spreading, and fine grading of select fill and pavement materials
- Daily pre-starts, machine care, and maintenance reporting
- Working closely with supervisors, surveyors, and project teams
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years' final trim grader experience on civil construction projects
- Strong understanding of levels, grades, crossfalls, and reading civil drawings
- Ability to consistently trim pavements and subgrade to specification
- Current White Card and relevant plant tickets/competencies
- A skilled attitude — you take pride in your finish and look after your machine
Highly Desirable:
- Trimble GPS machine control experience (Earthworks, GCS900, or similar)
- Excavator operating experience or other multi-machine capability
- Experience across roadworks, subdivisions, and bulk earthworks
- HR license or above
