As a National Visual Merchandiser at General Pants Co. you are responsible for developing and executing the VM strategy across all store locations, to ensure consistent, on-brand and commercially effective customer experience.
The role leads the in-store implementation of Brand VM standards and guidelines to maximise sales performance, and to optimise floor space, with particular focus on mannequin styling, outfit builds, windows and key promotional areas.
The role also supports and trains field Visual Merchandising team members, within an exciting, fast-paced environment that constantly challenges your ability to adapt to the business needs.
What You Will Be Doing
Responsible for VM creative direction and VM strategy, project managing VM initiatives and ensuring all VM store execution is best in class nationally
Utilise your commercial acumen on how VM drives sales and find new and exciting ways to attract customers
Coach and mentor teams and assist with setting up recent directions and march days to help deliver a consistent message to your team and the wider business
Adapt to the business needs to deliver efficiently and to tight timeframes e.g. promo set ups, markdowns, seasonal sale set-ups, and VM directives
Work with relevant departments to ensure that stock placement is tailored to your store's "look and feel" to meet specific limitations and demographics
Analyse product placement in accordance with store reports and take action to address stock performance issues that impact store sales performance
Partner with Retail Operations and Store Development on new store openings and refurbishments, ensuring WHS standards are upheld for all elements of VM activities
What We're Looking For
5+ years' experience in VM leadership within a multi-site national fashion retail business
Genuine love, experience and understanding of the fashion and retail industry
Strong project management, organisation, people coaching and management skills
Strong knowledge of local demographics in terms of customers and competitors
MS Office skills - Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, InDesign and Illustrator
Self-starter and driven to constantly improve - ourselves and how things are done
Self-aware to know strengths and gaps, and humble enough to own them
Resilient and able to identify when it's time to recharge
Ability to travel around stores, as required, for a combination of office, store and field-based work
