About the role

The Estimator is responsible for calculating accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and residential cleaning contracts. This role requires conducting detailed site assessments, analysing client specifications, and preparing comprehensive proposals. The Estimator bridges the gap between sales and operations. They ensure all quotes are commercially viable, operationally deliverable, and aligned with company profitability targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Prepare accurate cost estimates for prospective commercial and residential cleaning contracts.
- Calculate labor requirements, material costs, equipment depreciation, and overheads.
- Apply appropriate profit margins in line with company pricing strategies.
- Draft and submit formal proposals, tender documents, and service agreements.
- Review and interpret complex tender documents and scope-of-work specifications.
- Conduct physical site inspections across various Queensland locations.
- Measure floor plans and assess site-specific conditions.




- Identify potential operational challenges, access issues, and safety hazards.
- Determine the appropriate cleaning methodologies and equipment required for each site.
- Conduct formal handovers of successful quotes to the operations team.
- Provide detailed site assessment notes, labor budgets, and equipment lists to operational managers.
- Collaborate with operations staff to review the financial performance of active contracts.
- Adjust future estimating formulas based on operational feedback and actual time-and-motion data.
- Maintain accurate records of all quotes, site assessments, and client communications.
- Communicate with prospective and existing clients to clarify service requirements.

Essential Skills

- Strong understanding of commercial cleaning methodologies, equipment capabilities, and production rates.
- Advanced numerical skills with the ability to calculate complex labor and material costs accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and industry-standard estimating or CRM software.

Qualifications needed

- Minimum Diploma level or equivalent relevant work experience
- Minimum one year of work experience on relevant position
- White Card
- Driver's License

Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000-$95,000 plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
