Coastal Dental Care Runaway Bay is co-owned and led by our principal dentist, Dr Will Dear, right in Runaway Bay Centre. We’re part of a dentist-owned network of 18 practices across the Gold Coast, but each practice runs like your local: close relationships with patients and a team that actually knows each other.
About the role
This is mostly a Dental Assistant role, chairside most days at our Runaway Bay practice, with one day a week on the front desk covering reception. It’s a casual position, so your roster will flex week to week to suit the practice, with a genuine opportunity to move into full-time hours right from the start. You’ll work closely with Dr Will Dear, the Practice Manager and the wider practice team to keep things running smoothly for our patients.
What you’ll be doing
- Setting up and closing treatment rooms, and keeping the surgery and sterilisation area neat and compliant
- Assisting our dentists chairside: passing instruments, preparing materials and processing digital X-rays
- Sterilising and reprocessing instruments, and keeping infection control records up to date
- One day a week, stepping into reception: greeting patients,
managing the appointment book in D4W, answering phones and taking payments
- Helping manage stock levels and general practice admin
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Experience in the healthcare sector in a similar role
- A qualified, well-presented approach
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle a few things at once
- Great communication and customer service, in person and on the phone
- Willingness to keep infection control and first aid qualifications current
Preferred
- Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting or willing to obtain
- Previous dental assisting or reception experience
- Familiarity with Dental for Windows (D4W)
