ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced enthusiastic, dedicated, self-motivated and reliable ward clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate would be versatile and available weekdays and weekends as required.

DUTIES

- Greeting and working in collaboration with patients, families and professionals
- Answering and transferring phone calls, taking messages
- Liaising with nursing staff, allied health professionals and other hospital departments to assist and facilitate patient treatment and transfers.
- Medical records preparation, filing and updating for clinical staff.
- General administrative duties as required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE





- At least 12 months previous hospital administration experience.
- Highly professional phone manner and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and initiate action
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Well-developed computer skills including accurate data entry skills with good attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a part of a collaborative team
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT applications
- Self-directed work approach

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

- Experienced in the use of the webPAS or similar patient management system
- A sound knowledge of private health insurance

Remuneration will be commensurate with skills and experience.
