- Full time, Award covered, $44-47/hr casual plus allowances.

This is a current opportunity for an experienced Support Practitioner to join our Children, Youth & Families team in Mackay area.

If you are open to relocating to Mackay, the team are happy to discuss relocation and flight assistance.

What You'll Do

- Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of children, young people, and families to identify strengths, needs, and risks.
- Individualised Care Planning:



Develop and implement tailored care plans in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide timely support during crises to ensure safety and stability.
- Advocacy: Advocate for clients to access necessary resources and services.
- Skill Development: Facilitate evidence-based parenting programs and workshops.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external agencies to coordinate care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with organisational standards.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Ensure services are culturally safe and inclusive, respecting the diverse backgrounds of clients.

What You'll Need

- Qualifications: Degree in social work, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in child protection, family support, or community services.
- Knowledge: Understanding of child protection legislation and out-of-home care frameworks.
- Skills: Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Cultural Competence: Ability to work effectively with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Essential:

- Possess a National Police Check,
- Working with Children (Blue Card),
- Licensed Care Service (Child Protection) or the ability to acquire.
