We are looking for someone that can help sky-rocket the performance of 150 staff over 5 of our boutique hotel and wedding venues in regional NSW.
This role is about working with our 5 General Manager’s and all their staff and helping get the most out of all our teams. Creating resources and providing training to help staff be the best at their role so they enjoy incredible success and the business as a whole thrives.
We run five amazing wedding venues across NSW – The Lodge Jamberoo, The Woods, The Cove Jervis Bay, The Merribee and The Sienna Hunter Valley. We're serious about creating unforgettable experiences for our guests, and that starts with looking after our people – and that’s where you come in!
About the Role:
Based at The Lodge Jamberoo with regular travel to our sister venues, you'll be the one making sure our people run like clockwork. This role is about creating proactive growth, increased responsibility, initiative, skills and productivity in staff as opposed to reactionary trouble shooting. We are interested in providing growth and evolution for our staff and you will operate at the centre of this, partnering closely with senior leaders to turn this into action.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hiring and onboarding and managing the full employee journey from start to finish.
- Managaing our existing online training portal and access for all staff
- Creating new policies and training modules as needed
- Ensuring all staff have KPIs that are documented and monitored weekly by their mgrs.
- Reviewing KPIs to ensure they are usefull and accurate
- Making sure every team member is trained and up to date on policies.
- Keeping performance reviews happening on time, every time.
- Owning wage costings,
rosters and payroll accuracy across all venues.
- Managing employment compliance including workers compensation, SafeWork, Fair Work etc.
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation
- Being the go-to for management on all things people and compliance.
- Provide expert leadership across workplace relations and industrial matters, including high-risk and complex cases
- Support operational HR processes and provide timely advice to employees and leaders across our diverse organisation
- Assist with performance management and employee relations matters
- Support training, development, and employee engagement initiatives
- Ensure HR processes remain compliant with company policies and employment legislation.
- Assist management with workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies
- Manage all hiring from a high level to ensure all key roles are filled across all venues
- Manage relationships with recruiters as needed
- Manage your own inhouse database for potential employees
What We Are Looking For:
Someone confident, highly organised, professional and fun. You'll need to be a solid communicator who can build trust fast across multiple venues.
- 2–3 years’ experience in an HR operations or advisory role/ previous experience in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of rostering, payroll and workplace safety.
- A driver's licence and willingness to travel between our NSW venues.
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to build strong relationships with candidates and employees
- High attention to detail and confidentiality
- Experience using recruitment systems, HR software, and Microsoft Office
- Understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices highly regarded
