Educational Leader/2IC and Lead Educators
Charley's Place is seeking a passionate and dedicated Educational Leader/2IC and Lead Educators to join our team in Alderley, QLD 4051. This is a Permanent Part-Time position offering an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children and their families in a newly opened service. As an Educational Leader/2IC or Lead Educator, you will be at the forefront of early childhood education, creating nurturing environments where children can learn, grow and thrive. This role is pivotal to our commitment to providing high-quality childcare and education services that support child development and family wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
Planning, implementing and evaluating curriculum-based learning experiences that promote holistic child development
Creating safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environments that encourage exploration, creativity and social interaction
Building positive relationships with children and families, fostering trust and open communication
Observing and documenting children's learning and development, using this information to inform individualised planning and support
Collaborating with colleagues to ensure consistent and cohesive approaches to childcare and education
Supporting children's emotional wellbeing and helping them develop social skills and resilience
Maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and policies and procedures
For Lead Educators: mentoring and supervising other educators, providing guidance and support to ensure quality practice
For Lead Educators: contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and supporting professional development within the service
Maintaining accurate records and communicating regularly with parents and carers about their child's progress and wellbeing
What we're looking for
A relevant Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) qualification, such as a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent recognised qualification
Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
Knowledge of contemporary early childhood education practices and the ability to implement play-based, child-centred approaches to learning
Demonstrated commitment to creating inclusive environments that respect and celebrate diversity
Sound organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain detailed records
Physical capability to support the active care and supervision of young children
Current First Aid and CPR certification
For Lead Educator roles: evidence of leadership experience and mentoring capability within an early childhood setting
Minimum of 1 year leadership experience in an early childhood education setting is required for Lead Educator positions
For Lead Educator roles: strong knowledge of the National Quality Standard (NQS) and ability to support compliance and quality improvement
Minimum of 1 year experience as an Educational Leader for the Educational/2IC role and:
Proven knowledge and application of Quality Area 1
Strong leadership and mentoring skills
Ability to inspire, guide and support educators to deliver exceptional learning experiences
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to assist in classrooms when required
Current Australian work authorisation is required at the time of application
