About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team on a permanent part time basis, working Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary needs, including texture-modified meals and specialised therapeutic diets. Working closely with the kitchen and care teams, you will play a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meals while maintaining a clean, compliant, and efficient kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook nutritious meals that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences.
Ensure compliance with IDDSI guidelines and residents' care plans.
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen and care team.
Manage food inventory and minimize waste.
What We're Looking For:
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the aged care sector or a comparable environment such as hospitals, healthcare facilities, or retirement villages.
Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards, HACCP principles, and safe food handling practices.
Demonstrated understanding of IDDSI standards and texture-modified diets.
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, and colleagues.
A genuine commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life through nutritious food, excellent service, and a positive dining experience.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
