The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Psychologist to join a neurodiversity-focused clinic with a steady stream of referrals and a strong internal support structure.
You’ll have the opportunity to work with children and adolescents and liaising with families and conducting thorough and comprehensive assessments for ASD, ADHD, and SLD.
This is a great prospect for a Registered Psychologist who wants to step away from delivering therapy interventions and focus on Neurodiversity Assessments.
Your role will include:
- Neurodevelopmental assessments: Conduct thorough and comprehensive assessments for ASD, ADHD and SLD using standardised diagnostic tools and best practice guidelines.
- Diagnostic Formulation and Reporting: Synthesize assessment findings to formulate diagnostic impressions, produce detailed, high-quality diagnostic reports that communicate findings, diagnoses, and recommendations clearly and effectively with a two-week turnaround for ASD assessments and one-week turnaround for ADHD and SLD assessments.
- Developmental history taking, direct observation,
and the administration of specific psychometric instruments.
- A maximum of 2 ASD assessments will be scheduled within a day (equivalent to 4 hours of clients contact) or a minimum of 5 ADHD or SLD assessments, which will be scheduled within a day (equivalent to 5 hours of client contact).
- Family Support: Provide support, education, and guidance to families and caregivers, helping them understand the diagnosis and navigate the available support and intervention options.
- Collaborating with schools, GPs, psychiatrists, and allied health professionals.
- Creating a safe, affirming space for neurodivergent clients.
- Diagnostic Formulation & Reporting: Interpret assessment results and produce clear, high-quality diagnostic reports with recommendations, within set timeframes (2 weeks ASD; 1 week ADHD/SLD).
- Engaging in supervision, team collaboration, and professional development.
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Psychologist with AHPRA (newly registered welcome).
- Experience or interest in working with neurodivergent assessments.
- A warm, person-centred, and strengths-based approach.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
