About Us?

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Allied Health Operations team provide direct clinical services, contracted Allied Health professional services, programs, and care coordination support to IUIH and its member organizations. The primary focus is to improve access to a broad range of health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through inter‑qualified collaboration and partnerships with local stakeholders and organizations.

About the Role?

We currently have Full Time and Part Time positions available for the South Side of Brisbane and Gold Coast (one day per week). In your cover letter, please specify if you are open to Full Time, Part Time, or both. The position will be responsible for providing clinical pharmacist support to the SEQ ACCHO network and the Senior Pharmacist.

Your day to day duties will include:

- Support clinics by conducting regular case conferences, medication chart audits, general medication queries, imprest management support, identifying areas of strength as well as areas needing remedy or improvement in line with quality use of medicines principles.
- Assist clinics with the routine extraction and analysis of medication and medication usage data. Conduct drug use evaluations, contribute to CQI and discussion with clinic staff to ensure services are informed and equipped to respond to findings identified through data analysis.
- Working alongside clinic staff including Aboriginal Health Workers, Allied Health, RN’s, Specialists and GP’s, delivering high quality support for clients
- When appropriate,



perform Home Medicine Reviews in collaboration with clinic staff and coordinated by a Pharmacy Support Worker
- Perform “in clinic” medication reviews where there is an acute need and Home Medication Reviews are not eligible/possible or timely.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures and protocols across SEQ ACCHO Clinics which enhance clinical quality and safety.
- Liaise with community pharmacies to assist with non‑compliance issues and promote positive relationships between clinics, community pharmacies and clients.

About You?

- Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
- General registration as a pharmacist with AHPRA
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Minimum of 3 years’ postgraduate experience as a pharmacist is preferred
- Medication Management Credentialed
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates (in house training supplied)
- Willingness to travel between IUIH sites as required

Desirable, but not mandatory:

- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
