Northside Roofing Pty Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Junior Roofing Apprentice to join our growing team. This is a full-time apprenticeship position based in Burpengary, QLD. As a Junior Roofing Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced tradespeople to develop practical skills in roofing whilst completing your formal qualification. This role offers an excellent foundation for a rewarding career in the building trades, and you will gain hands‑on experience in all aspects of roofing work on residential and commercial projects.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting qualified roofers with the installation, repair and maintenance of various roofing systems
- Learning and practising safe work practices and compliance with all health and safety regulations on site
- Preparing work areas, handling materials and tools under supervision
- Helping to measure, cut and fit roofing materials including sheets and membranes
- Assisting with the installation of guttering, flashing and other roofing components
- Maintaining a clean and organised work site and ensuring proper disposal of waste
- Attending and completing your apprenticeship training at a registered training organisation
- Supporting the team with general labouring tasks as required
What we’re looking for
- A genuine interest in the roofing trade and building industry
- School leaver or equivalent qualifications
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights safely
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced tradespeople
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with punctuality and commitment to your role
- Ability to work as part of a team in a agile environment
- Sound communication skills and ability to take constructive feedback
- A valid driver's licence and reliable transport to and from Burpengary
- Current or willingness to obtain Working with Children clearance if required
- Preferred experience: any previous experience in construction, building trades or manual work
