Performax Science is looking for an Exercise Physiologist ready to bring advanced clinical expertise to a caseload that actually matches their skill level. This is a role for someone who wants to work at the top of their scope: athletic development, strength and conditioning, and performance testing, alongside chronic pain management, neurological rehabilitation and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. The bulk of your caseload will be Private and DVA clients, with some NDIS and WorkCover exposure as needed.
If you've reached the point in your career where straightforward caseloads aren't stretching you anymore, this role is built for the clients who will.
The Opportunity

About Us
Performax Science is a multidisciplinary allied health facility offering Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology and Dietetics, alongside a 24/7 gym and dedicated recovery spaces. We run over 1000 appointments a week, with a client base predominantly made up of Private and DVA clients, plus a smaller mix of NDIS and WorkCover work. Every client trains with a practitioner. There are no group classes here,
and there's no "just turn up and figure it out" culture either.
Our clinical programming is built on proprietary frameworks (including the Performax Long Term Periodisation Model) and driven by objective data through VALD ForceDecks and Dynamo technology. We invest in the systems and tools that let our clinicians do their best work.
Session Targets & Remuneration
- Session average of approximately starting (35 client hours + 3 hours admin)
- $100k package salary (Earning potential uncapped of $160k+)
- Additional business-based incentives
- 55% overtime incentive
- 3% commission
Key Responsibilities
Client Assessment & Program Design
- Conduct comprehensive exercise physiology assessments tailored to each client's presentation, goals and limitations
- Design evidence-based, individualised exercise programs for Private and DVA clients, with occasional NDIS/WorkCover cases
Client Support & Education
- Deliver expert, hands‑on coaching during sessions, ensuring safety and adherence to prescribed programs
- Educate clients on exercise physiology principles, correct technique, and the value of consistency
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with the Head of Exercise Physiology and practitioners across Physiotherapy and Dietetics
- Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences to keep client outcomes front and centre
Quality Assurance
- Help maintain high clinical and safety standards within the Exercise Physiology department
- Support quality assurance protocols and outcome assessments
Professional Development
- Mentor and guide Graduate and Senior Exercise Physiologists
- Stay current with best practice and emerging research in exercise physiology and rehabilitation science
Client Engagement & Progress Monitoring
- Monitor client progress, track performance improvements, and adjust programs as needed
- Build a training setting clients stay motivated to keep showing up to
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Exercise Physiologist (AEP, ESSA‑accredited) with demonstrated experience across complex or specialised caseloads
- Confidence working across chronic pain, neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, primarily with Private and DVA clients (NDIS and WorkCover exposure is a bonus, not a requirement)
- Comfort working with objective, data‑driven assessment tools (VALD or similar)
- Genuine interest in mentoring less experienced practitioners
- A clinician who wants a caseload that reflects their level of experience, not a generic one
Why Performax
- A caseload weighted toward the complex and specialised cases that make the work interesting
- A clear incentive structure that rewards the work you put in, on top of a strong base
- Established clinical frameworks and technology already in place, so you can focus on applying your expertise rather than building systems from scratch
- A genuine mentorship pathway, both receiving it from the Head of Department and providing it to junior EPs
- A multidisciplinary team on hand for case conferencing rather than working in isolation
