The Role:
- Setting up and operating an Amada CNC press brake
- Interpreting fabrication drawings, dimensions and bend requirements
- Planning practical bend sequences and selecting suitable tooling
- Checking completed parts using tape measures, squares, vernier callipers and other measuring equipment
- Cutting stainless steel and aluminium tube using a drop saw
- Operating tube-bending equipment
- Installing PEM and other clinch fasteners
- Unloading, sorting and checking laser-cut components
- Assisting with laser-cutting operations when trained and required
- Deburring,
linishing and finishing stainless steel components
- Assisting welders and other production team members
- Packaging completed products for dispatch
- Handling materials and maintaining stock
- Completing general factory and warehouse duties
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area
- Identifying drawing, material or quality issues before components proceed to the next production stage
- The ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Good numerical and mechanical aptitude
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment
- A strong focus on accuracy and quality
- A practical approach to problem-solving
- A willingness to learn recent machinery and manufacturing processes
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A reliable, punctual and safety-conscious attitude
- The flexibility to assist in different areas of the factory when required
- A current driver’s licence
Experience with stainless steel, aluminium or thin-gauge sheet metal will be highly regarded.
Desirable but not essential
- Experience operating an Amada press brake
- Experience programming or adjusting CNC press-brake jobs
- Stainless steel linishing or polishing experience
- Laser-cutting experience
- Tube cutting or tube-bending experience
- PEM or clinch-fastener installation experience
- Forklift license
- Relevant trade qualification or fabrication training
- Construction White Card
