We are a well-established Sunshine Coast commercial building company looking for a motivated Junior Estimator/ Construction Cadet to join our growing team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a driven individual who is passionate about construction and wants to build a long-term career in estimating, cost planning and contract administration.
Working closely with our Senior Estimator and experienced project team, you'll gain practical, hands‑on experience across the entire project life cycle while being mentored by industry professionals. About the Role
As our Junior Estimator / Construction Cadet, you'll support the estimating and project teams while developing the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in commercial construction.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with tender preparation to ensure submissions are accurate, competitive and professionally presented.
Measuring quantities and preparing estimates and cost plans.
Assisting with post-tender contract administration and document control.
Liaising with subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and clients.
Supporting the project team throughout various stages of construction.
Building and maintaining solid relationships with industry stakeholders.
Ensuring estimates and cost plans comply with relevant legislation, industry standards and project requirements.
Gaining exposure to tendering, procurement, site processes and commercial project delivery.
About You
We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in producing quality work.
Ideally you will have:
1-3 years' experience working with a commercial or residential builder in a cadet, junior estimating, contracts administration or similar role.
Current enrollment in, or recent completion of, a Construction Management or related qualification (highly regarded).
Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Confidence using Microsoft Office, with experience in Buildsoft, CostX or similar estimating software being advantageous.
A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and the ability to think on your feet.
